Well, this is my poem about a cat. Those i think that they are interesting creatures, I do not actually own a cat. The idea just randomly came to me one night. Initially was thinking about constructing a simple poem – quite like a nursery rhyme, then I just built on it.
I thought, since this poem is about
cats, why not throw in some great facts about cats that you may not have realized.
v That a group of cats is called a clowder
v A male cat is called a tom
v A female cat is called a molley or queen
v In addition, young cats are called kittens (probably the one we are generally most familiar with)
v Cats have excellent night vision; in fact, they can see light levels that are six times lower than humans can.
v Averagely, a cat’s life span is 12-15 years.
v The richest cat on the planet is called ‘Blackie’ whose owner left him £ 15 million in his will.
v Cats can make about 100 different sounds, though dogs can only make about 10.
v At a go a cat can jump up to six times it own height.
…Interesting aren’t they ?
Is that a squeak I can hear?
Oh! It’s that tiny rodent down there!
Secretly spying on it is the greedy cat
Just 5 seconds- and the poor thing is flat
Silence alone hangs in the air now
But I really can’t bear to look down
Until I sense what I think is a ‘miaow’
As Felix our contented cat
Lazily returns to his spot on our mat
For his third snack break has just ended
And he still grumpy his nap had been suspended
Yes, he plans to resume it without delay
I look at the fat feline and have nothing to say!
