I saw a real man cry
Straightup in front of everybody
I heard the deepest sigh
The empathy I felt insde
As helplessly the pain
Dropped from his lonely eyes
It cut me to my soul
As if I held his missing piece
I was desperate to make him whole
Every barrier
every wall
Tear by tear they tumbled
Yes a deafening fall
As if his spirit bowed low
As if his heart had died so slow
He moaned a weakend plea
'Spectators leave me be
This is not a facade no not a publicity stunt'
Yes he choked upon the words
Amidst his tearful grunts
Today I saw a real man cry
Straight up in front of everyone
He didnt run or hide
The emotion flowed freely
As if it signified a truth
His tears fell heavily
As if emotion bottled from his youth
And as I watched him tear apart
I loved him in that moment
It reached deep in my heart
As I saw him lose all control
In the way his tears would roll
I learned the meaning of respect
A lesson taught by his neglect
His neglect to suffer
Neglect to hold the pain inside
Today I saw a real man cry
In his weakest moment he was strong
To me I saw the right in what anyone would label wrong
I saw a real man cry
And for that I will respsct him
Yes til the day I die
